Sunny Acres RV Park, Las Cruces, New Mexico

We stayed at the Sunny Acres RV Park in Las Cruces, New Mexico one night as the base for exploring the White Sands National Monument. The RV Park by itself was quite quiet, however there are train tracks nearby. There were trains going through the night and they make really loud noises that did wake us up several times.

The road through the park is really wide which made it quite easy to maneuver. The sites are separated by green patches of grass, some of them have trees and picnic tables. All sites have full hookups (30amp / water / sewer). The bathrooms and showers were very clean. There is RV storage right next to the RV Park.

We stayed at the site LL which looks tiny, but it did fit our 24 foot trailer and truck.

White Sands National Monument - World's Largest Gypsum Dunes

Monday 24th December, 2018

Spanning 275 square miles in southern New Mexico, the brilliant white dunes at White Sands National Monument are a sight to behold. But they’re also remarkably young - these dunes started forming just 12,000 years ago! We spent 6 days exploring to see what other secrets White Sands might be hiding. Justin's Diamond J RV Park in Tucson, Arizona

Thursday 15th February, 2018

We stayed at Justin's Diamond J RV park for one night on Feb 19, 2017 to explore the nearby Saguaro National Park. This park seems to be catered towards longer term stay as it has lots of activities, for example mini-golf, bocce ball and walking trails that start right off the RV park. The sites were reasonably large, though there wasn't much vegetation to separate the sites. We were at site 39 and our 24 foot trailer and truck fit fine. When we stayed here in February the park was packed, but it was still quiet at night. [...]

Exploring the North York Moors National Park

Saturday 27th October, 2018

When I lived in England, I spent over 8 years in and around the North Yorkshire area. It's a beautiful part of England, with several National Parks within easy reach. One of these is the North York Moors National Park, and I was excited for the opportunity to take Diana there when we were back in the UK recently. [...]
